CircaSEA, presented by Act-Belong-Commit, presented an amazing circus performance honouring the long history of Australian’s during war time with their astounding performance of The Pierrot Circus Australaise.

Few contemporary Australians are familiar with the rich history of performance by ANZAC troupes during WW1; in the trenches, in nearby towns and back home on home soils.

Pierrot troupes were popular amongst the ranks of ANZACs, performing entertaining variety shows to lighten the mood of soldiers and distract the woes of those remaining at home.

In keeping with this spirit, the talented Southern Edge Arts youth circus troupe; CircaSEA, have devised a pierrot inspired and costumed performance featuring acrobalance, rou cyr, clowning and much more, all set to original WW1 music and the words of famous Australian poetry legend CJ Dennis.

Local costume designer Lynda Moylan has done a tremendous job of designing costumes for this show and CircaSEA have risen to new heights in devising this piece.

As part of the ANZAC Albany 100 year Commemorations, CircaSEA performed to hundreds at the Stirling Terrace Mess Hall on Saturday 1st Nov 2:10pm & 3:40pm, and Sunday 2nd November 10:30am & 1:10pm.
